MorbidLine has been producing quality sofas for over thirty years, combining beauty, solidity, comfort, functionality and durability.

Most sofas and armchairs feature solid (fir, beech or similar) wood frame, which can be made in monocoque structure, or with individual parts joined together. The parts of the structure that are subject to most stress are made with structural joints and additional joining hardware, and reinforced with solid wood corners or internal stiffeners. Padding between the various parts of the load bearing frame are made with compressed wood-fiber panels. In order to make the load bearing structure more rigid, some items feature multi-layered or other types of MDF supports.

The combination of various soft polyurethane parts and inserts, supported by the elastic action of straps, makes for seats with the right degree of support and elasticity. The traditional springs now a thing of the past, elastic belts have become a very important part of the frame of sofas and armchairs. To withstand weight stresses evenly, products have a crossed weft and 40/50 mm spaces between straps. Elastic straps do not require special maintenance instructions. However, we suggest that you do not jump on the central part of the seat, especially if you do not have any pillows.
Padding
Synthetic polyurethane is the ideal base for sofas and armchairs. Polyurethane is produced from the reaction between different petroleum components, but is not toxic and, above all, does not contain ozone-depleting chlorofluorocarbons. It is produced in different lengths, which can also reach 60 meters, and makes for an ideal product thanks to its varied density and suitability to be cut in different sizes and shapes. Its internal structure is open-cell honeycomb. It has excellent thermal insulation properties and hydrolysis resistance and is treated to withstand molds and bacteria that can be formed in a humid environment. It is well tolerated by the human body and does not cause irritation to skin upon contact. It is best suited for padding, in different variants and pairings. Thanks to its open and thin cell walls, polyurethane is particularly light and air permeable. Parameters like breathability and cell size allow dividing polyurethane into different categories and mechanical performances. MorbidLine uses polyurethane types and densities suitable to guarantee support, elasticity and resistance. For products we manufacture for the public sector, we select flame-retardant padding that was tested and certified in accordance with international standards, in order to ensure adequate protection against fire. Every new product added to our production line has a defined padding structure, so that we can achieve the perfect combination of beauty, performance, and comfort. Once submitted to a

Every new product added to our production line has a defined padding structure, so that we can achieve the perfect combination of beauty, performance, and comfort. Once submitted to a variety of bonding processes, polyurethane becomes a mosaic of pieces that have been appropriately placed in order to achieve maximum performance where needed. Like expanded polyurethane, foam is used for products of particular shapes, made in large quantities and with the same qualitative features. Foam is a variant of polyurethane and mainly used for complex and large-series products. Molded foam is quite adaptable. It is safe because it does not catch fire easily, in accordance with current international regulations. Its performance is extraordinary and yields exceptional comfort. MorbidLine has chosen eco-friendly polyurethane, which can be recombined either physically or chemically, or recovered as energy. Physical recombination involves reducing volumes by grinding the padding into particles, and finally recompacting it with binders. Chemical recycling is instead a glycolysis reaction that decomposes the polymer into various components from which a recycle polyol is obtained. Recovery in the form of energy leverages the energy content of the polymer and occurs through thermal destruction in modern incinerators, safely and in a manner that respects the environment. It can also be reduced to rhomboid pieces, which will keep their extraordinary features intact. Standard maintenance and cleaning of polyurethane padding is achieved with the use of a soft brush. We do not recommend cleaning sofas and armchairs with a vacuum cleaner, as internal polyurethane and upholstery may be damaged.
Fabrics
To meet any need, MorbidLine has selected an immense amount of fabrics featuring a variety of patterns, as well as colors and hues. Thanks to this opportunity, the lining of your padding is like a nice suit tailored specifically for you. Because this is exactly how lining is made: the years of experience in this field have pushed the Company to work fabrics by adopting different cutting and sewing standards, depending on the fabric used, so that results can be optimal at all times, no matter the fabric chosen. We always recommend choosing the fabric most suitable for the product and its desired use, since not all fabric/model combinations can guarantee the same aesthetic results. We always recommend choosing the fabric most suitable for the product and its desired use, since not all fabric/model combinations can guarantee the same aesthetic results. For regular fabric cleaning, simply use a soft brush from time to time. For washing, drying, and ironing, we strongly advise you to strictly follow our maintenance instructions exactly as stated on the labels provided with the product, without deviating from our recommendations. To remove stains, avoid using chemicals, solvents, or similar products; instead, contact a professional cleaner. Although it is resistant to sun and artificial light and mechanical stress, our upholstery, and, in particular, red and blue colors, are more sensitive to color variations over time due to normal wear and tear. We strongly advise you to expose your products to direct sunlight, and direct light sources (spotlights, etc.) of great intensity.
Leather
For tanning, we use tannins, which are extracts from bark, wood and leaves of some plants that stop alteration processes without modifying the structure and avoiding excessive chemical contamination: our leather does not contain pentachlorophenol. Softness is important and achieved with particular hammering techniqunes and hours-long rotation in special tanning drums. Here, with the right degree of humidity and temperature, leather becomes increasingly softer. Leather used for sofas and armchairs is particularly soft and rarely features wrinkles and scars. Upon request, it is possible to make the sofa with buffed or full-grain leather. The right mix of beauty and quality is achieved by combining aesthetic and mechanical features: leather is indeed evaluated also by the results of resistance and mechnical tests to which samples are submitted. The results of tests carried out exclusively by specialized testing laboratories are assessed in accordance with: finishing adhesion (UNI EN ISO 11644), light fastness (UNI EN ISO

The naturalness of the leather coating product can underscore some of the product features: on the outer surface, there can be noticeable signs of the animal’s life (wrinkles, scars, porosity, grain variance, etc.) that are not to be considered defects, but guarantees of the genuineness of the product purchased. As far as possible, leather sheets that have imperfections are positioned in hidden areas of the product. We do not recommend exposing leather upholstery to direct sunlight and light sources (spotlights, etc.) of great intensity. Avoid direct contact with metallic, pointed or other parts, as it may cause irreparable scratches or abrasions. Cleaning and maintenance can be carried out regularly to keep the leather liner intact. For these activities, we always advise you to clean first than complete the protection treatment.
Warranty conditions and limitations
MorbidLine guarantees the frames of its sofas for 10 YEARS from the date of delivery, thus ensuring free repair of the structural components of sofas (drum) if these have suffered damage attributable to manufacturing defects recognized and acknowledged by MorbidLine or any party designated by it. Any delays in performing work do not give rise to any damage compensation or a warranty extension. Warranty care is carried out free of charge.
Exclusions from the following warranty
Coverings (fabrics, eco-leather, and leather), padding, springs, mattresses, electric motors and mechanisms (except for any warranty given by the manufacturer) are not covered by the MorbidLine warranty. Any damages, breakages or abnormalities occurring during transport, removal and/or handling caused by external shocks, other than the common domestic use, are excluded.
